Yesteday, my Drupal website alerted me to the news that Drupal core had been updated to 6.16. So I was looking forward to the day that the new Acquia Drupal bundle would be released. I visited www.acquia.com this morning and saw that it had been released yesterday. I wonder why I didn't get a message announcing this new release? I'm on their sales mailing list. I signed up for the free support subscription they were offering in their first year. Since that expired Dec. 31st 2009, I expected to still get notices of the new releases but I didn't get one. So I went to acquia.com, hunted around for their Contact Us button - not found anywhere on the home page. I found it on the About page in the submenu on the left hand side. I wrote them a little message asking to be put on their news and announcement mailing list. So hopefully I will get a nice email announcement with the release notes in my inbox next time around.

Anyways, here's some highlights of the new Acquia release:
- new Drupal core 6.16 fixes multiple security issues
- updated Acquia Search package which I don't use
- updated the following modules: Image, Mollom, Pathauto, Acquia Marina theme

Read the complete version of the Release Notes here: http://acquia.com/release-notes/1.2.22-Drupal-6.16-core

In my next blog post, I will share some tips to successfully updating your Drupal website.
