5 Benefits of Creating Your Own Custom Contact Form

I was at a Surrey Drupal Users Group meeting and I asked How can I modify the title of the default Drupal contact form? Darren suggested that I create my own custom contact form using the module called Webform.(http://drupal.org/project/webform) That way I can save all the submitted data in the database for future reference. And I can customize the name of the form plus take advantage of other customizations.

The benefits of creating custom contact form using Webform module.
1. All data submitted is saved in your database for future reference.
2. You can use any title for your contact form. I prefer "Contact Us"
3. You can customize the text in the submit button. And also remove that hyphenated word e-mail - which I find super annoying
4. Add custom fields like City/Town/Region
5. Use radio buttons for choosing the Category to improve usability.

What other benefits can you see from using your own custom contact form?

Congrats on getting your company web site converted over to Drupal. I should really get working on my own.

In the meantime, good for you on the custom contact forms. I think that the webform module works well with minimum fuss.

Cheers,

Andrew

And the Good News is that Mollom now works with all your custom forms made with the Webform module. Mollom is a free anti-spam service available at mollom.com
