1. Drupal: Creating Blogs, Forums, Portals, and Community Websites
This book by David Mercer provides a good introduction to Drupal terminology and leads the new user step by step in installing Drupal and setting up a simple website.

2. Drupal 5 Themes
An good explanation of the basics of theming. Theming describes the process of creating a custom website interface for a Drupal website. It's best to start with an existing Drupal theme and learn by making modifications to the style.css file. This book covers the basics. Using images for block backgrounds and other page content is not included. This book assumes a basic knowledge of CSS.

3. Building Powerful and Robust Websites with Drupal 6
David Mercer provides an excellent introduction to Drupal using the new Drupal 6.0. This book is an update of his first book, Drupal: Creating Blogs, Forums, Portals, and Community Websites

The video covers what Drupal can do and introduces you to the concepts.
It doesn't however teach you how to do anything.
It doesn't talk about views or panels. It does talk about CCK though.
I would say this video is designed more for someone either completely new to Drupal (as in not installing it yet)
or a marketing video as to why you would want to use Drupal. I was hoping to see them talk about say
CCK then have them show me how to do it, but I guess the showing is in the next volume.
