Drupal Training & Tutorials
My apologies for not updating my blog here. I am now writing Drupal training tips at my company website, http://www.seascapewebdesign.com/blog. Hope to see you there!
Here are some new Drupal Training Tips:
Before you launch your Drupal site
We had a great time in Seattle this past weekend, Oct 24-25th, at the Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit. www.pnwdrupalsummit.org Lots of great talks and lots of great people!
Chris Shattuck of www.buildamodule.com gave lots of great advice when he spoke on Drupal Security Essentials.
Jen Lampton of www.ChapterThree.com gave a very practical presentation on Drupal SEO. Did you know that the default settings of Pathauto can lead to duplicate paths to your content? This is not good for your Google rankings.
Thanks, Glenn and ImageXMedia.com for hosting the BBQ and DVD night on August 14th. The Surrey Drupal Users Group met at Glenn's house for excellent food and to view the new DVD called Implementing Drupal. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend but I checked out the photos and it looks like the group had fun. Good to see some new faces. Hope you all come out again to our next meetings.
If you want to get a copy of the DVD yourself directly from Lullabot, check out this link:

Last night at the Surrey Drupal Users Group Rick Vugteveen from ImageX Media gave a great presentation on creating a blog site in Drupal 6 using CCK, Views and a number of support modules. He lugged his 20 odd inch monitor for the presentation and it worked rather well at the restaurant table. Not sure if he's going to post his slides. I haven't asked him yet, but hoping we can get a repeat performance for the Vancouver group.
Meet with others in your local area interested in building and strengthening the Drupal Community. Come out for monthly Drupal training sessions, discuss new and exciting Drupal-related news, or just socialize with like-minded people from the Fraser Valley!
The focus of our group is Drupal 101 topics. We are looking for presenters to give a short talk to our group. Here are some topics we are interested in learning about:
- Theming with Drupal
- Calendars and Events module
- Integrating video on your front page
- Installing a photo gallery
