The best tip I ever received is to avoid using the Search box on Drupal.org. Use Google search instead.

So in order to find anything on drupal.org I go to my Google search box in my browser and type:
drupal.org search_term

It's the fastest way to find everything you need to find on drupal.org.

Need a module? Don't know where to look on drupal.org?
Go to Google search box and type the following:

drupal.org pathauto module

And usually the first listing will be the one you are looking for.
